Recreation Mission – Woodburn Recreation & Parks strives to engage a diverse community by offering healthy, active programs that enhance the quality of life in Woodburn.
Aquatic overview – The Woodburn Aquatic Center includes a 10-lane lap pool, wading pool, spa, saunas, rope & slide and a group exercise room. The Aquatic Center strives to serve a broad group of users including swim teams, families, youth, senior fitness groups, lap swimmers and more!
Positions Available:
– Recreation Specialist: The Recreation Specialist oversees a variety of recreation activities (from sports to summer camps to special events) and assists in the organization and execution of the same. The work schedule is varied. The successful applicant must have a flexible schedule but generally be able to work evenings and weekends as needed depending on program schedules.
– Lifeguard: Vigilantly monitors the safety of swimmers and other guests using the Aquatic Center facilities; constantly observes guests in assigned area. Performs rescues and administers emergency care and assessment as trained and necessary. Provides information and assistance regarding schedules, program descriptions and general information.
– Shift Supervisor: Supervises and provides direction to on-duty personnel, including lifeguards and instructors; including but not limited to performance evaluations, conflict resolution etc. May be required to work in the capacity of a swim instructor, group exercise instructor and lifeguard as well as handling front desk operations. (some aquatic experience desired)
