Youth Guidance Association

Our mission is to meet the needs of troubled youth by helping them experience healing from past abuse and family trauma, embrace positive values, take personal responsibility for their actions, and develop the skills and desire to make successful choices in life.

For the past 45 years, Youth Guidance has been in the business of reaching out to the troubled youth in our community. That outreach has focused on providing residential treatment services for at-risk youth who have experienced emotional a behavioral problems at home, at school and in the community.

Currently, we are hiring for the roles of residential youth counselor (RC) and RC Relief at both our Son Village and Charis Ridge treatment programs.

RC staff are responsible for providing supervision and guidance for the adolescent boys who live in our programs, as well as performing assigned tasks and doing required documentation.

RC Relief staff work in an on-call capacity, so are not committed to specific shifts during the week. The relief position provides excellent experience for those who have an interest in working with at-risk youth, as well as for those who are considering working in the field of human services, juvenile justice or counseling. Working relief is a great way to see if this would be a good fit; and for those who are interested, it is the relief staff who are the first to be considered when regular shifts become available.

Intern positions are designed to fit the interests, experience and educational background of the applicant. Most interns are looking for direct client contact and work alongside the RC staff providing support, and direction to the boys who reside in our residential programs.
